HOW did you start in Real Estate? As we began our marriage journey in May of 1982. Coleen was working at KMTV in the production department and Bill was working at Millard Lumber estimating lumbers for buildings. On our 1-year wedding anniversary in 1983, we decided it was time to purchase our first home. After some negative experience with various real estate agents, we bought our first house for one dollar down (and 18% interest!) FOR SALE BY OWNER! Shortly after, Bill was challenged by some friends to study for his real estate license. It was shortly after receiving his license in 1983, that Bill quit working for Millard Lumber and we have been 100% commission based since, working FULLTIME in Real Estate! We have three wonderful kids. Our oldest Daughter, a nurse, is a co-admin of the Regional Heart Clinic in North Platte - wife, and mother of 3. Our other daughter received her DR of Veterinary Medicine in May, 2020 and moved with her husband to Lexington KY to intern at Rood & Riddle Equine Center. Josiah is our aggressive and busy son loving the many responsibilities he has and gaining knowledge for future careers.
WHY are we known as the HOUSE MOVER? After developing a subdivision, Bill was told about a Colonial house that needed moving! Of course, he again took on the challenge of the many legalities to move it over three days and 2 nights from 156th & Dodge. We have lived in 3 other properties, and know the hassles of moving, and even the burden of owning two houses at the same time (and the expenses of that!)
Although Bill grew up in the Omaha area, Coleen grew up on a farm in South Dakota, the oldest of four girls. One of their daily jobs was gathering 2-3000 chicken eggs a day! She came to Omaha to attend and graduate from Grace College and is excellent at being in the office as a support staff to our team. She is delighted to now have Dinette in the office helping with the all the compliance paperwork!
Omaha has been my HOME! Starting this career in 1983 was a journey that in the early years I didn't know how it would work! However, year by year, and all the people I have been fortunate to meet both in my business and through referrals. . . I have LOVED the opportunity to learn and grow every day in being a problem-solver for many clients! I am well-connected with many venues throughout the city, with my experience and exceeding some expectations. Before getting my REALTOR license, I worked many years at Millard Lumber as an estimator and Contractor Sales. which has now given me a vast knowledge of the building process not only in residential but also in larger buildings. You will discover that I have a great working knowledge of houses from the ground up. I love a challenge, so our family's "Claim to Fame" was physically moving a large 2 story brick Colonial house from Barrington Park 15 miles out of the Omaha City limits to a subdivision just west of Omaha in the summer of 2003. Having to obtain many permits and meet many requirements, as well as organize professionals to accomplish this proves that I can cover every detail when helping you in your needs!
